Community Events Assistant

We are looking for a volunteer to assist with Community Days in the wildlife garden.  These are usually on the last Saturday of the month in the afternoon.  A three month minimum commitment is required.

Requirements: Enthusiasm, creativity, a commitment to sustainability and experience in working with children and/or community groups are key to this role. You need to be a good communicator with an interest in working outdoors. Punctuality and reliability are also essential.

Applicants must be 18 or over.

Purpose of role:

To engage the local community and ensure younger generations are inspired to learn about conservation and environmental issues, food growing and wildlife.

Main activities/tasks:
  • To help with the activities running during the session
  • To greet our visitors and make them feel welcome
  • To take photos of the event to record the impact of our project
Who are we looking for?  

Someone who is:
  • Friendly
  • Enjoys being around children
  • Enjoys the outdoors
  • Has experience of or interested in learning about gardening
  • Cooking skills (not essential)
  • Knowledgeable about wildlife or would like to learn
  • Previous experience of working with children (not essential)
